Waivers
General Liability Waiver
I, the undersigned parent or legal guardian, understand that participation in Kids Food Art YYC Camp involves hands-on activities including food preparation, baking, use of kitchen tools, and creative projects.
While all reasonable precautions are taken to provide a safe and supervised environment, I acknowledge that there are inherent risks associated with these activities, including but not limited to minor cuts, burns, allergic reactions, slips, or other unforeseen incidents.
By registering my child(ren) in Kids Food Art YYC Camp, I confirm that I understand and accept these risks.
I hereby release, waive, and discharge Kids Food Art YYC, its owners, instructors, staff, volunteers, and affiliates from any and all liability for any injury, illness, loss, or damage that may occur as a result of my child’s participation in camp activities, whether caused by negligence or otherwise, to the fullest extent permitted by the laws of Alberta.
I agree that I will not hold Kids Food Art YYC or its representatives responsible for any accidents, injuries, or incidents that may occur during camp hours or related activities.
I acknowledge that I am responsible for ensuring that all medical, allergy, and emergency contact information provided is accurate and up to date, and I understand that failure to disclose relevant information may increase risk.
By selecting acceptance during online registration, I confirm that:
- I have read and fully understand this General Liability Waiver
- I voluntarily agree to its terms
- I consent to my child’s participation in all camp activities
This waiver is binding and applies to my child’s participation in all Kids Food Art YYC Camp activities.
Medical & Emergency Consent
I, the undersigned parent or legal guardian, authorize Kids Food Art YYC Camp staff to provide or arrange for appropriate medical care for my child in the event of an injury, illness, or medical emergency while participating in camp activities.
I understand that every reasonable effort will be made to contact me or the listed emergency contact prior to administering medical treatment. However, in the event that I cannot be reached, I give permission for camp staff to seek emergency medical attention, including transportation to a medical facility, and for qualified medical personnel to provide treatment as deemed necessary.
I acknowledge that participation in camp activities, including food preparation and hands-on creative work, carries inherent risks, and that medical situations may arise despite proper supervision and safety measures.
By signing this consent, I agree that I will not hold Kids Food Art YYC, its owners, instructors, staff, volunteers, or affiliates liable for any injury, illness, medical expense, or outcome resulting from emergency care provided or arranged during camp participation, to the fullest extent permitted by the laws of Alberta.
I confirm that:
- All medical information provided, including allergies, conditions, and medications, is accurate and complete
- I have disclosed any relevant health concerns that may impact my child’s participation
- I understand that failure to provide accurate medical information may increase risk
By selecting acceptance during online registration, I confirm that:
- I have read and understand this Medical & Emergency Consent
- I voluntarily agree to its terms
- I authorize emergency medical care for my child if required
This consent applies to all medical situations that may arise during my child’s participation in Kids Food Art YYC Camp.
Food Allergy & Participation Waiver
I, the undersigned parent or legal guardian, understand that Kids Food Art YYC Camp involves hands-on food preparation, baking, and consumption of a variety of ingredients.
While the camp strives to maintain an allergy-aware environment and takes reasonable precautions to reduce the risk of exposure, I acknowledge that the facility, ingredients, and environment cannot be guaranteed to be free from allergens.
I understand that there is a risk of exposure to common allergens, including but not limited to nuts, dairy, eggs, wheat, and other ingredients, whether through direct contact, shared surfaces, airborne particles, or cross-contamination.
By registering my child, I confirm that:
- I have fully disclosed all known allergies, dietary restrictions, and medical conditions
- I understand the risks associated with my child’s participation in food-related activities
- I accept that Kids Food Art YYC cannot ensure a completely allergen-free environment
I acknowledge and accept full responsibility for my child’s participation in all camp activities involving food. I agree that I will not hold Kids Food Art YYC, its owners, instructors, staff, volunteers, or affiliates liable for any allergic reactions, illness, injury, or related medical issues that may occur, to the fullest extent permitted by the laws of Alberta.
I understand that if my child has a severe allergy, it is my responsibility to provide any necessary medication (such as an EpiPen) and ensure my child understands how and when to communicate symptoms to staff.
By selecting acceptance during online registration, I confirm that:
- I have read and understand this Food Allergy & Participation Waiver
- I voluntarily agree to its terms
- I consent to my child’s participation in all food-related camp activities
This waiver applies to all food-related activities and acknowledges the risks associated with a non-allergen-free environment.
Photo & Media Use Consent
I, the undersigned parent or legal guardian, grant permission to Kids Food Art YYC to photograph and/or record video of my child during camp activities for the purpose of promoting the camp and related programs.
I understand that these images and recordings may be used in marketing materials, including but not limited to social media, website content, digital advertising, printed materials, and future promotional campaigns for Kids Food Art YYC.
I acknowledge that:
- My child’s name will not be publicly disclosed without additional consent
- Images and videos will be used in a respectful and appropriate manner
- No compensation will be provided for the use of these materials
I understand that this consent applies to current and future use, and that Kids Food Art YYC may continue to use these materials for promotional purposes unless I provide written notice requesting withdrawal of consent.
I release and waive any claims against Kids Food Art YYC, its owners, staff, and affiliates related to the use of these images or recordings, to the fullest extent permitted by the laws of Alberta.
By selecting acceptance during online registration, I confirm that:
- I have read and understand this Photo & Media Use Consent
- I voluntarily agree to my selection above
This consent applies to the current camp session and any future promotional use unless withdrawn in writing.
Cancellation & Refund Policy
Due to limited camp capacity, staffing commitments, and advance planning required for each session, all registrations for Kids Food Art YYC Camp are final and non-refundable.
We understand that plans can change. While refunds are not available, the following options may be considered:
- Camp transfers to another week may be permitted if space is available
- Registration transfers to another child may be approved upon request
Please note:
- No refunds or credits will be issued for missed days, late arrivals, or early withdrawals
- No exceptions will be made due to illness, scheduling conflicts, or other personal circumstances
- We recommend families consider personal cancellation insurance if there is any uncertainty around attendance
